Cyber Monday 2015 Walmart Ad

If shoppers can snag Black Friday deals on Thanksgiving, it should be no surprise that some Cyber Monday bargains will come earlier this year, too.

Walmart's Cyber Monday deals available at 8 p.m. Sunday eastern.

Walmart announced that for the first time,  Walmart's Cyber Monday deals will start at 8 p.m.  on Sunday — four hours earlier than that midnight rush for Cyber Monday shopping.

"It can be exhausting for working parents and millennials to stay up past midnight to shop online, only to wake up early the next day to get ready for work," said Fernando Madeira, president and CEO of Walmart.com.

"By starting 'Cyber Monday' hours earlier on Sunday evening and quadrupling the number of Cyber Monday specials, we're making it easier for customers to get ahead of the busiest online shopping day of the year and save on the best gifts," he said in a statement released Monday.

Walmart also said it will bring back its "Evening Edition" of Cyber Monday to give working parents and shoppers another opportunity to grab some online deals. Cyber Week will run through Dec. 4 with 2,000 online specials each day.

As with other retailers, key items are available for free in-store pickup, too.

Walmart said that its Cyber Monday deals will include:

  • LG 65" 4K Ultra HDTV — $799 (a $500 savings) plus free shipping.
  • Microsoft Surface Pro 3 — $599 (a $200 savings) plus free shipping.
  • Air Hogs Star Wars Remote Control X-34 Landspeeder — $19 (a $15 savings) plus free shipping directly to the store.
  • Air Hogs Video Drone — $75 (a $34 savings) plus free shipping.

Walmart said free shipping to one's home is available on orders over $50 and free shipping to Walmart stores is available many items.

Last year, the retailer said, nearly 90% of the orders placed on Walmart.com between Thanksgiving Day and Cyber Monday were shipped for free.

Consumers, naturally, are looking for deals every day of the year. But on Cyber Monday shoppers are expected to be looking for special savings online on apparel (34%), consumer electronics (33%), toys or video games (26%), books, movies or music (23%), home items (22%) and mobile devices (15%), according to a study by FatWallet.com.

Target adds to the fun, releases its Black Friday deals

Brent Shelton, an online shopping expert for FatWallet.com, said FatWallet has seen increased traffic on its site in the early evening on Sundays in the past few years, as shoppers try to get a head start on Cyber Monday deals.

Last year, Shelton said, some big stores started Cyber Monday deals on Sunday afternoon, and he would expect some retailers to call it "Cyber Sunday" this year and start deals even earlier.
